Our hotel traditionally stands for hospitableness and reaches back until the conventual middle ages. Because the property of the now Hotel-Restaurant, GERBE with tannery, wine restaurant and agriculture, once belonged to the monastery Kreuzlingen.
In 1779 already, the Hotel was acquired by Joseph Jakob and over the generations resumed and further developed. With the death of Johann Baptist Jakob in 1907, the tannery had been shut down, and the following generations concentrated on the development of the hotel and catering trade enterprise.
Agathe, the niece of Johann Baptists widow, took over the concern after her marriage with Josef Heine in the year of 1923.
Their son died in the war and their daughter, also called Agathe after the mother, took over the enterprise in 1966, along with her husband Hans Wagner. They turned the Hotel-Restaurant GERBE into an oasis of hospitality at the Bodensee, where the well-being of the guests is first priority.
Their daughter Dietlinde, also feel committed to this good old fashoned tradition. Since January 2000 she run the Hotel-Restaurant GERBE
and cordially
